Meet Meghan May, Military Finance Specialist & SCO

For eight years, Meghan May has been part of the 番茄社区app community, helping students navigate the financial side of their education and supporting those who have served our country.

As a Military Finance Specialist and School Certifying Official (SCO), Meghan works closely with military-connected students as they pursue their academic and career goals. For her, the most rewarding part of the role is simple: the students themselves.

Supporting Those Who Have Served

Meghan’s passion for her profession comes from the opportunity to help students move closer to their goals.

Working with military students holds particular meaning.

She sees firsthand the determination and resilience students bring to their education. Knowing she can play a role in helping them navigate the process and continue moving forward fuels her commitment to providing the best support and guidance possible.

Never Lose Sight of Your Why

When Meghan offers advice to students, she starts with purpose.

That 鈥渨hy鈥� will be different for everyone. It might be family, career aspirations, personal growth, or the fulfillment of a lifelong dream.

Whatever it is, Meghan encourages students to hold onto it, especially when circumstances become difficult.

鈥淭here will always be obstacles and unexpected circumstances that you can’t control, but you can control how you respond to them.鈥�

It’s a message particularly relevant to students balancing education with careers, family responsibilities, military service, and the unexpected turns that life can take.

Fall Seven Times, Stand Up Eight

Meghan’s favorite motivational quote reinforces that same belief in perseverance:

The proverb, Nana korobi ya oki, is a reminder that success isn’t about avoiding setbacks. It’s about continuing to get back up.

Beyond the Office

Outside of work, Meghan has a four-legged companion named Hiro, a Shiba Inu.

Known for their independent personalities and unmistakable appearance, Shiba Inus have plenty of character, and Hiro gives Meghan another reason to smile when the workday is done.
